ABA

Intensive Therapy

We utilize evidence-based practices to increase functional skills such as communication, social, and behavioral, while reducing maladaptive behaviors. RBTs are experienced in delivering Naturalistic Environment Teaching (NET), Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT), Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT), Verbal Behavior (VB), and using a variety of augmented communication devices.

*Per the BACB guidelines, our intensive therapies meet the recommended intensity levels and comprehensive treatment goals. Treatment often involves an intensity level of 30-40 hours of 1:1 direct treatment to the client per week, not including caregiver training, supervision, and other needed services

Enrichment Program: This program is geared for children from ages 2-6, with a focus on individualized goals improving communication, social, and behavioral skills, with an added emphasis on school readiness. The day is structured after a comparable PreK schedule, with structured lessons in a group setting and individual 1:1 setting. Our program uniquely offers both group and individual settings while an RBT is always working with each child. Special weekly lessons include, yoga, zumbini, art, science, and an academic block utilizing PreK curriculum.

Extensive Therapy

As with intensive therapy, extensive therapy utilizes evidence-based practices to increase functional skills such as communication, social, and behavioral, while reducing maladaptive behaviors. RBTs are experienced in delivering Naturalistic Environment Teaching (NET), Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT), Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT), Verbal Behavior (VB), and using a variety of augmented communication devices.

*Per the BACB guidelines, our extensive therapies meet the recommended intensity levels and focused treatment goals. Focused ABA generally ranges from 10-25 hours per week of direct treatment (plus direct and indirect supervision and caregiver training).

Social Skills: This program is tailored for children from ages 6-12, with a focus on building appropriate peer interactions including responding and initiating with others, sharing and turn-taking, expanding social pragmatic language, problem solving, executive functioning, identifying emotional situations, and daily life skills. Each day involves a fun activity in which children work on a variety of these skills, including their own individualized goals from their treatment plan.

Community Outreach

There is a growing need in our community for ABA services, not only for families with a child with a diagnosis, but for spreading awareness about behavior management and how ABA can be useful in everyday lives!

Free 8-Week Parent Training: This program is tailored to families that are interested in learning more about ABA and receiving parent training to improve their child’s communication, social skills, and reduce problem behaviors. Parents will receive on-going weekly training for 8 weeks to learn how to implement ABA procedures to work on specific goals they have selected with their child. Our speech therapy team provides a range of behavioral techniques and tools such as modeling, imitation, expansion, parallel-talk, visual aids, low-tech communication boards, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. We are knowledgeable in implementing therapy models like literacy-based speech therapy, Developmental Individual-differences Relationship-based Floortime (DIRFloortime,) Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP), and others. We provide well-rounded therapy treatment as we collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide the best treatment for your child. Additionally, we believe in empowering families by providing them with tools to help broaden/generalize/carry over speech and language skills to the home environment.

Feeding

The Feeding program at Promise Center for Autism is focused on helping children ages 2-12 who struggle to eat and accept a wide variety of foods. Food is nourishment for your child’s body, and we want to help your child thrive. Our mission is to provide families and their children with the skills and techniques necessary to love eating while creating successful mealtime routines.

Our unique feeding program promises to help children improve their ability to eat while increasing the variety of nutritive foods in his/her diet. We empower parents and caregivers by providing explicit hands-on training and interactive observations to carry out interventions to the house setting and see progress even faster. Our team, which includes experts from more specialties, can determine the cause of your child’s eating struggles. Whether they have low muscle tone in their jaw and tongue, sensory challenges, or behavioral issues, we can provide the personalized treatment they need. Home-based telehealth options are available upon request once the feeding intervention has started at the clinic.

A compassionate team of experts…

Each of our therapists is specially trained and have a special passion for helping children eat—and enjoy eating. We strongly believe that having a good and healthy relationship with food is the key to being able to enjoy food with all our senses. Our compassionate approach ensures that children remain happy, relaxed, and engaged during the taste sessions as well as enjoy fun activities that will help foster skills that are necessary to tolerating new foods.

Our approach is based on Managing Eating Aversions and Limited Variety (MEAL) Plan

We aim to equip kids and families with the resources needed to help a child with autism spectrum disorder thrive during mealtime through a 13-session treatment course instructed by a board-certified behavior analyst.

Our outpatient program serves children with feeding disorders who can be treated by less intensive therapy, such as one hour, once a week.
